Doha, Qatar

As part of the JEDARIART Public Art Program, we created a mural at Mansoura Metro Station in Doha celebrating South Asian truck art. Painted by Akhlaq Ahmad and Farid Bawa, the work was inspired by the typography, scripts, and iconography of Indian trucks, alongside the Phool Patti tradition of Pakistan. Set within a neighbourhood home to a large South Asian community, the mural was a way of bringing a familiar visual language into public space and closer to the people who live there.

We also hosted a truck art workshop for students, and shared our work and process at The Fire Station. It became a way to open up conversations around the visual language of truck art and the importance of keeping this fading art form alive.
